Working with corpora has many sides. Apart from using the corpora, which is the aspect that is closest to Abundantia Verborum, there also is the aspect of creating the corpora. And besides lexicology and lexicography, for which Abundantia Verborum was designed, many other subdisciplines of linguistics use corpora.
In subsection 4.1.1 The broader field we give a short overview of corpus linguistics in general. Afterwards, we focus on the aspects that are closest to Abundantia Verborum.
