Abundantia Verborum

1. Introduction

As the reader goes through this text, he will notice that it presents a project with many dimensions, and therefore many faces. It presents a computational contribution to the methods of current linguistic approaches that are cognitively and therefore psychologically oriented. By the very nature of the topic, the project faces the risk of getting lost in no man's land between the borders of computer science, linguistics and psychology. It is the purpose of this introduction to reduce the number of possible dimensions, so that a framework emerges for describing the goals, methods, results and criteria for evaluation of this work. The structure of this introduction is given below.

1. Introduction

  1. The field and its problems: computer-aided research
  2. The goal: support of graphical analysis in an integrated environment
  3. The method: a practically oriented project in breadth
  4. The product: the program and the text, and who they are for
