We have reserved blocks of rooms from 9 February until 13 February 2005 at selected Leuven hotels, at reduced conference rates. In order to obtain these rates, conference participants need to make hotel room reservations directly with the hotels. Most hotels require a credit card number and expiry date when booking the room. The reserved blocks of rooms will be released anywhere in between December 1, 2004 and January 11, 2005 (please check individual hotel information below). After the release date, rooms can still be booked at each of these hotels, but will be subject to availability. Payment is by conference participants upon departure. As we need to draw up guest lists for each of the hotels, we would be grateful if you let us know: (i) in which hotel you booked accommodation; (ii) your check-in date and check-out date. Cancellation policy: cancellations are possible until 11:00 a.m. of the day of arrival; late cancellations and no shows are charged 75% of the room rate for the first night. The Begijnhof Congreshotel is one of Leuven’s finest hotels. It is situated near the Grand Beguinage (13th century) and within walking distance of the historic centre of Leuven. It is very close to the Faculty Club Conference Center (2nd and 3rd conference days) and about 20 minutes from the Faculty of Arts. Cancellation policy: cancellations are possible up to 48 hours prior to arrival; cancellations within 48 hours prior to arrival and no shows: 75% of the room rate for the first night. This hotel is centrally located, within 5 minutes’ walking from the Faculty of Arts (1st conference day) and 10 minutes from the city center. It is also very close to the railway station (3 minutes’ walking) nearby the ring road. It is about 20 to 25 minutes’ walking to the Faculty Club Conference Center (2nd and 3rd conference days). Please mention “Functionele Taalkunde” to receive the special conference rate. Rooms are held until 6 pm. Late arrivals can be guaranteed by credit card. Cancellation policy: rooms can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the date of arrival. Hotel New Damshire is located in the heart of the city center. It is a 15-minute walk from the Faculty of Arts building (1st conference day) and it’s 10 minutes from the Faculty Club Conference Center (2nd and 3rd conference days). IRISH COLLEGE LOUVAIN Janseniusstraat 1 Block of 20 rooms. Rates, including breakfast:
Cancellation policy: The Institute is located in the centre of Leuven surrounded by historic buildings and pedestrian streets lined with cafés, terraces and restaurants. Everything is easily accessible within a few minutes’ walk. The Institute is situated in its own grounds with beautiful gardens. All rooms (recently renovated) have a bathroom en-suite with shower and wc. Laundry, towels, soap etc are provided. All rooms have telephones with direct dialling facilities, message recording and wake up call. The Irish College is situated within 5 minutes’ walking from the Faculty Club Conference Center (2nd and 3rd conference days) and about 15 minutes’ from the Faculty of Arts (1st conference day).
