How to use FirstClass

Main Access to FirstClass Working with FirstClass

FirstClass is the "virtual classroom" we wil be using in this course. The purpose of using an ICT environment such as FirstClass is to enhance the interaction between students and teachers, and between students between themselves.

FirstClass makes it possible to post temporary results and analyses, and it enables teachers and fellow students to follow the progress of the distinct research projects. As such, students can learn from one another, and teachers can offer both individualized and general feedback. Students and teachers alike can post messages to everyone involved in the course, to individuals, or to everyone working on the same descriptive topic (in technical terms, working within one FirstClass "conference").

By using the links on top of this page, you will learn how to access (and, if necessary, download and install) the FirstClass software, and how to use it. More detailed and extensive documentation on how to use FirstClass can be obtained from the software's help files once you are logged on to the system.
